Hungarian Grand Prix 2026 — dates, location, and transfers.

The 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix runs at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, 25 km northeast of Budapest. Here's the practical info for planning race weekend, from arrival to the checker.

Race weekend at a glance

The Hungarian Grand Prix is typically held in late July. The circuit is in Mogyoród, north-east of Budapest, with grandstand entry gates opening Thursday afternoon and the race held on Sunday.

Getting there

The Hungaroring has no rail station and local bus service to the circuit is very limited on race days. Most visitors stay in Budapest and use a pre-booked private transfer — it's the only way to avoid the worst of the race-morning traffic.

Where to stay

Central Budapest hotels fill up fast for race weekend. Book accommodation 4–6 months ahead if possible; prices typically double vs. a normal July weekend. Staying in northern Pest (near the M3) shortens the race-morning drive.

Frequently asked questions

When do tickets go on sale?

Official grandstand tickets go on sale through Hungaroring.hu and the FIA F1 partners typically from late autumn of the previous year.

Is there a train to the Hungaroring?

No direct service. The closest rail options drop you in Gödöllő, still several km from the circuit with no shuttle. Don't plan around the train.

Can I park at the circuit?

Paid parking lots operate on race weekend but demand is extreme. Most fans skip self-driving — pre-booked transfers save time and stress.
